How you can help the Charity
The Charity is launching the final stage of its Appeal to complete the Renaissance. We depend entirely on voluntary contributions, as we have no sources of regular income. The three stage Renaissance process and related funding are set out in summary and, as you can see, this unusual project has already received very widespread support. There are a wide range of ways in which you can help the Charity, from buying a David Gentleman limited edition lithograph (£75) to more major support, such as Time Plaque Sponsorship (£8,000). Study Order Form David Gentleman Lithograph - 'Seven Dials and the Sundial Pillar'A Limited Edition Lithograph (150 No), each numbered and signed by the artist, David Gentleman. [Liam - pic of DG lithograph - from card]David Gentleman's famous series of limited lithographs 'Prospects of Covent Garden' were published by the Seven Dials Press in 1971, sold out many years ago, and are now collectors items. As an unusual gesture of support for the Charity's work, David kindly drew an addition to the series after the Sundial Pillar was restored, and the famous Westerham Press also donated their printing of his drawing. This beautiful monochrome image of the Dials and the Pillar is available from the Charity at £75 including postage and packing. It should be framed against acid free paper and the edges should not be cut. The lithograph is 21" x 24" (54 x 61cm). David Gentleman is one of England's most famous artists and the Charity is delighted to be able to offer this unusual and attractive drawing to our supporters. Please note that the picture above obviously does not do full justice to the originals which are a charcoal colour and not black. If you would like to purchase a lithograph, please print out this form and return it to the Charity with your cheque. They were designed by our consultant astronomer Gordon Taylor of the Greenwich Royal Observatory. Three Time Plaques have already been sponsored by the Kleinwort Benson Property Fund, Allied Domecq Leisure Limited and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. Each Time Plaque can carry the name of the Sponsor and sponsors will also receive a signed and numbered limited edition lithograph of the Sundial Pillar specially drawn for the Charity by David Gentleman. In addition, each sponsor is asked to choose a quotation related to time, either from a list we supply or of their own choice. This is fixed onto the time plaque, together with your own sponsorship details. Cost of Sponsorship: £8,000 [Click on to Time Plaque Sponsors Form] Sponsoring Street ImprovementsKleinwort Benson generously sponsored the complete restoration of the first two streets, Shorts Gardens and Earlham Street East, at a cost of £450,000, but individuals and smaller companies can assist by doing this on a lesser scale. You can help in completing the Renaissance by either sponsoring a street, or through sponsorship of individual pieces of street furniture. Your support will act as a catalyst in improving the city centre of London and will act as a national exemplar for other city centres throughout the country. [Liam - pics of all 3 + pics of past street works to demonstrate the scale of the operations] As you can see, all of the above items display a Seven Dials logo featuring the wounded hind. This was featured in the heraldic crest formerly associated with the St. Giles Parish. This logo gives a special identity to the area and we feel is an attractive element. This section of the website is still under construction - please contact the Charity for further information on sponsoring street improvements [Link to Contact Information] Gift AidYou can assist the Charity further by agreeing to your donation becoming a Gift Aid Donation. This enables the Charity to reclaim the tax on your donation (28p for every £) without any cost to yourself.
