For several years now, the Trust has been working on updating its comprehensive study of the area, The Seven Dials Renaissance Study, first published in 1991. Designed to provide a national exemplar of how to care for inner city conservation areas, the study takes an holistic approach, providing a detailed framework for the total environment.

The two existing print editions of the Seven Dials Renaissance Study have been amalgamated, extended and updated into an accessible web-based edition, available for all stakeholders, other interested parties and the general public. The beta version of this can now be seen here

The study – now called Seven Dials in Covent Garden - has several sections, including:

Key principles, historical context, planning and licensing frameworks.

Treatment of the public realm, maintaining the integrity of the unique historic streetscape.

Building Maintenance and improvements with expert guidance for historic shopfronts and building facades.

A detailed building-by-building analysis with specially commissioned high-definition photographs as well as archival material, with recommendations for restoration and maintenance.

The Trust welcomes any comments which can help us improve the site.
